BIO

I am a Research Fellow in the Department of Health Services Research and Policy (HSRP) and the Faculty of Public Health and Policy, and a member of the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Health and Social Care Commissioning at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).

I hold a PhD in Social Work and Social Care (University of Sussex, 2017), an M.Sc. in Social Research Methods (University of Sussex, 2014), and a B.A. (Hons.) in Cultures and Communities (University of Sussex, 2012).

I have undertaken research in various qualitative and mixed methods projects across the public, commercial, and non-for-profit sectors. My research focuses on public and community health with a particular interest in the wider determinants of health, health inequalities, and sociological understandings of health and illness. I draw on a range of qualitative methods and theoretical and analytical approaches to contribute to the development of sustainable and effective health and social care services.

I am currently undertaking research related to two projects at LSHTM within Health Services Research and Policy, the Faculty of Public Health and Policy, and the NIHR Policy Research Unit. The first is the NIHR-funded ‘Post-Implementation Review of the Health and Care Act 2022’ between LSHTM, the University of Manchester, and the University of Kent, examining the development of collaboration in ICSs. The second is an NIHR Policy Research Unit-funded study examining Provider Collaboratives in light of the 10-Year Health Plan, the development of Integrated Health Organisations (IHOs), and the shift from hospital to community.

I am an experienced Lecturer and have taught across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including the BSc Health and Social Care, BA Childhood and Youth, MSc Social Research Methods, and MSc Marketing and Consumer Psychology.
