BIO
Prior to joining LSHTM I worked as a Lecturer at the University of Roehampton and the University of Brighton. I have experience in qualitative methodologies, scholar-activism and community knowledge production and my research is deeply informed by my years working in frontline harm reduction organisations. With the Sex Workers Evaluate Reporting Violence (SWERV) project, I will manage the dialogue workshops and the qualitative process evaluation.
Alongside my own research I am part of a project with Dr Laura Connelly titled Equality and Inclusion: Promoting responsible academic engagement with sex workers; a project that is informed by a ‘scholar-activist’ approach: an approach orientated around how academics can best work in service to the communities in which they research.
I have been active in the fight for decriminalisation of sex work for over a decade, and I work closely with SWARM, Decrim Now and ECP. I enjoy collaborative working and I welcome oppertunities to work with other scholars and activists,
