Mbozu Grace Sipalo is a Zambian medical doctor with a master's degree in Global Health Policy from the University of Edinburgh and a postgraduate diploma in neonatology from Zambia. She completed her medical school at Ulyanovsk State University in Russia. After which she returned to Zambia where she completed a 2-year internship at the largest tertiary hospital in the country - The University Teaching Hospital (UTH). She went on to join the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team at UTH. The high neonatal mortality rates in Zambia guided her desire to pursue a master`s in Global health to strengthen health policies affecting newborn care in Zambia. Her dissertation focused on the determinants of neonatal mortality in Zambia and explored the different levels of influence on the high death rates of newborns from the structural to individual level. This interest in tackling high neonatal mortality rates in low- and middle- income countries like Zambia led to her joining the newborn NEST360 team at LSHTM.

During her master`s degree, Mbozu was the Social and Political Science Postgraduate Taught School Representative at the University of Edinburgh.
