BIO

I am a statistical epidemiologist specialising in observational studies, with a strong track record of working with/consulting for a wide array of bodies (pharma, government organisations, non-governmental organisations) to improve population health, and an extensive interest in methodological advances in the field.

More specifically, I initially trained in the laboratory sciences before switching into epidemiology and population health in 2010. My quantitative skillset includes causal observational (particularly cohort) studies in epidemiology, and systematic reviews and meta-analyses. I have worked extensively with industry and policy-making bodies nationally and internationally (particularly the Scottish Parliament, National Institute for Health and Care Excellence UK, European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, and the World Health Organization).  I am currently the Co-Lead for the Delivery Theme of LSHTM's TB centre.

I have a strong interest in infections, and in recent years have focussed particularly on studying tuberculosis and Epstein Barr Virus, especially treatments for the former and vaccines for the latter. Lately, I have been working with collaborators in India, Latvia, Malaysia, Tanzania, Uganda and the USA.

I am a Fellow of the Young Academy of Europe and was the co-chair of UK Academics and Professionals to End Tuberculosis 2020-2022.
