Based in the Child Protection Research Group, Jodie's work draws on social epidemiology and mixed-methods approaches to understand both the causes and consequences of violence against children, and evaluate interventions to prevent violence. She currently works on several projects related to the evaluation of The Good School Toolkit, a school-based intervention to reduce violence against children in Uganda, and has a particular interest in the scale-up of school-based interventions. 

Some of Jodie's other work includes a project exploring how social norms around violence affect the development of adverse outcomes, in addition to a mixed-methods evidence synthesis project examining the relationship between violence in childhood and work outcomes, and whether skills training programmes may help support young people in Uganda into decent work.

Prior to LSHTM, Jodie completed an internship at an operational research unit of MSF UK, and worked on research related to the use of medical data in humanitarian settings. She has a BSc in Natural Sciences from the University of Bath and MSc in Public Health from LSHTM.
