BIO

I am a post-doctoral research fellow at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine based out of Sangath, a community-based mental health research organisation in Western India. I have nearly 10 years of professional work experience in community settings in India. My work focuses on leveraging community-based knowledge and resources to develop and evaluate psycho-social interventions for mental health problems.

I hold a Master's in Sustainable Development from TERI University, New Delhi, and a PhD in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. I am trained in mixed-methods, community-based approaches to research, and Psychology. I have led NIHR-, MRC-, and SNF- funded studies across rural and urban settings in India to develop and evaluate low-intensity, lay-health worker-delivered, psycho-social interventions, building strong and lasting partnerships to adapt evidence-based interventions to field-based realities.

Currently I am the Research Co-ordinator of a cluster RCT evaluating the effectiveness of a cash-plus intervention for depression in rural India.
