I am an entomologist interested in novel approaches to the control of insects of medical importance. I have extensive experience in designing and implementing intervention studies of vector control tools, ranging from development-stage studies of topical and spatial repellents to clinical and field investigations. Current research focuses primarily on the ecology, behaviour and control of synanthropic species relevant to neglected tropical diseases.

I am currently Assistant Professor in the Department of Disease Control at London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. I completed a PhD on the molecular basis of insecticide resistance at the University of Bath and followed with postdoctoral positions researching evolution in insects at the University of Exeter and Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle in Paris. I then pursued an interest in translating basic research into commercial opportunities by undertaking a full-time International MBA at the University of San Diego and Ecole supérieure de Commerce de Reims.

In addition to my research position I am Director of Grant Development at Arctech Innovation, the first spin-out company from LSHTM. I am also the Content Manager for the Global Vector Hub, an online resource for vector control data, resources and networking, which supports my contributions to the BBSRC/Defra-funded UK vector-borne disease data hub.
