BIO
Alexander Perkins is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Non-communicable Disease Epidemiology at LSHTM and Deputy Director of the Centre for Global Chronic Conditions. Since 2014, he has specialised in the design, management, and evaluation of large-scale randomised controlled trials and epidemiological studies across sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, and North America. His academic focus bridges epidemiology, randomised controlled trials, and implementation research to enhance healthcare delivery in resource-limited and emergency settings. Underpinned by a commitment to academic rigour, his work provides the robust and valuable data required to address critical challenges in global cardiovascular care. Alexander holds a PhD in Epidemiology from LSHTM, is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), and was named a World Heart Federation Emerging Leader in 2024.
