I am a Professor at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, where my research sits at the intersection of environmental health, epidemiology, and the behavioural sciences. My work focuses on understanding the determinants of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) behaviours — and on designing, testing, and scaling interventions that improve health outcomes across households, schools, and health care facilities.

Current projects include a multi-arm trial of community-based behaviour change interventions targeting household sanitation coverage and child health in Malawi, and a parallel study evaluating the behavioural and health impacts of hygiene interventions in urban Zambia. A growing strand of my work examines the intersection of climate change, WASH, and infectious disease risk.

I serve as Scientific Advisor to the Reckitt Global Hygiene Institute, supporting a portfolio of research partnerships across grantees and project teams worldwide.

Within LSHTM, I am Associate Dean for Research in the Faculty of Infectious and Tropical Diseases (ITD), where I work to advance the Faculty's research strategy and support the development of early- and mid-career researchers.
