Dr. Corine Ngufor is an Honorary Associate Professor of Medical Entomology at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and the Founder and Executive Director of the African Institute for Research in Infectious Diseases (AIRID) in Benin. She previously served as a full-time faculty member at LSHTM for approximately 15 years (2011–2025), where she established an internationally recognised research programme in malaria vector biology and control in Benin. Dr. Ngufor holds both a Master's degree in the Biology and Control of Disease Vectors and a PhD in Infectious Diseases from LSHTM. She has nearly 20 years of experience conducting research on malaria vectors, vector control, and malaria prevention in Benin and across sub-Saharan Africa.

Since 2015, Dr. Ngufor manages an OECD Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)-compliant vector control evaluation platform in Benin, which she established and led to become the first OECD GLP-certified test facility in West Africa in 2019. As Test Facility Manager, she oversees the delivery of GLP-compliant laboratory, semi-field, and community studies evaluating a broad portfolio of novel vector control tools, including insecticide-treated nets (ITNs), indoor residual spraying (IRS), spatial repellents, attractive targeted sugar baits (ATSBs), and other emerging technologies, generating evidence to support WHO Prequalification and global policy recommendations.

Beyond vector control research, Dr. Ngufor has led several large-scale public health implementation studies. These include the UNITAID-funded PLUS Project evaluating perennial malaria chemoprevention in Benin, the USAID-funded MaCRA Project assessing the quality of malaria rapid diagnostic test (RDT) reporting in public health facilities, and the Gavi-funded SIRI Project investigating the feasibility and implementation of seasonal intensification of malaria vaccine delivery in Benin.

Dr. Ngufor is widely recognised for her leadership in global malaria policy and innovation. She serves as a member of the World Health Organization's Malaria Policy Advisory Group (MPAG), Co-Chair of the Roll Back Malaria Partnership's Vector Control Working Group, and a member of the External Scientific Advisory Committee (ESAC) of the Innovative Vector Control Consortium (IVCC). Through these roles, she contributes to shaping global strategies for malaria prevention and the development of next-generation vector control technologies.
